Weekly Yoga Classes
Silent Hot Power Yoga
Thursdays, 9:30-11am @ Humble Haven Yoga
This class follows the Journey Into Power sequence as taught by Baron Baptiste. Practiced in a 95 degree room, this class is silent. I will practice alongside you while calling the name of the pose and then pacing the breath. There are no cues to instruct how to get in or out of the pose or direction while holding the posture. The intention of this silent class is to offer ample space for personal exploration and capacity for a moving meditation. Rest, alterations, and your own personal pace are all encouraged as needed. All are welcome.
Yin Yoga
Thursdays, 12-1pm @ Humble Haven Yoga
This class consists of heavily grounded postures held for approximately 5 minutes. To support the extended hold, students will be provided with props such as blocks, bolsters, and blankets. The intention of holding postures in this way is to move past the stretch of the muscle and into the loosening of the fascia or connective tissue. This practice is accessible to anyone interested in yoga.

“I have been taking yoga classes for about 15 years at different studios with different instructors. It wasn't until I took a class with Suzanne where I felt like I truly found a yoga home, a haven if you will. Suzanne is incredibly intentional with her teaching approach. Her inclusive nature makes for a safe and comfortable class every time. Suzanne simultaneously values individuality and community. She truly operates with zero judgement. Not only has she been a teacher of my asana practice, she has expanded my thinking around yoga as a philosophy and a broader practice outside of the physical movements. I learn something new every time I take a class or attend a retreat with her. This year I'll be taking Humble Haven's yoga teacher training program, with Suzanne as lead trainer, and I really couldn't see myself engaging in this learning with anyone else.” - CB

"I began my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training feeling both afraid and skeptical. I was navigating deep transitions, fragmented relationships, and challenging belief systems. I was angry, heartbroken, and seeking—but I was willing. That willingness was met with equal dedication from Suzanne. Her patience and presence created a space where trust came naturally. Meeting her through Ashley Williams affirmed that she was someone I could trust—not just someone I wanted to believe in, but someone who truly embodied the practice she shared. Power Vinyasa became the foundation that encouraged both awareness and bravery. The edge of my practice on the mat became an embodied philosophy that prepared me to explore the edge of my practice off the mat. I could be curious, I could be brave, I could learn and begin again. The training itself was structured yet expansive, introducing new ideas, making space for nuance, and challenging me in ways that shaped not just my practice but my perspective. Over those ten months, my commitment was met with Suzanne’s, along with the co-leads who helped guide the journey. It was an experience of growth, learning, and genuine transformation.” - VC

“In my treatment for cancer my body went through a very difficult year. I had a bone marrow stem cell transplant, chemotherapy, radiation treatments, colonoscopies and three biopsies. After all that treatment I am happy to say that I am in remission. What I needed after that was not more western medicine but healing that I could get from Yoga. From my first class on I have been healing and Suzanne has been the conduit for this ancient healing process called Yin Yoga. After each class I feel stronger, healthier and very serene. Suzanne is a part of my care team as much as my doctors and nurses at VCU Health.” - JB
